Description
Salzburg is truly a city of spires. From any one of the fantastic mountainous vantage points bordering the old town, your view will always include a selection of domes and pointed spires. In this photograph, taken from Monchsberg, the monumental cupola of the baroque Collegiate Church can be seen in the foreground. Behind, another three green domes mark Salzburg's 17th Century Cathedra. In between, the striking 'red onion' roof of Nonnberg Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery founded in the year 714 and made famous by the movie 'The Sound of Music' telling the story of Maria Von Trapp. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white, to compliment the magical feel of this beautiful Austrian city.
