Description

Porto's Ribeira district near the banks of the Douro river is teeming with life and colour. In this historic centre of the city, medieval streets and alleys are filled with all types of ancient buildings, crumbling and decaying houses sit side by side with newly painted pastel abodes in all the hues of the rainbow. All of them topped with a bright red tiled roof, so typical of Porto. It's a hugely atmospheric place and I think this is reflected in the architecture, vivid and lively, varied and mixed, there is something for everyone in this beautiful Portuguese city.
