Description

The Graben in Vienna's City Centre has a long history leading all the way back to the middle ages. Today this beautiful street is lined with fine examples of various styles of architecture popular throughout the centuries, amongst them, Baroque and Romanesque. To the far right of this photo is the famous 'Ankerhaus' designed by Otto Wagner. To the left is the 'Pestaule', a Baroque memorial erected in 1679 after the great Plague epidemic. A pleasant stroll along this pedestrian friendly shoppers paradise will bring you to the landmark St.Stephen's Cathedral. I blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the vintage feel of this classic Viennese street scene.
