Description
Lazienki Palace in the Polish capital Warsaw is also known as 'Palace on The Water' and 'Palace on The Isle' due to its picturesque location, encircled by water. Built in the Neoclassical style and completed in 1869, it stands amid one of the loveliest green spaces in Warsaw, Lazienki Park. I wandered around it for almost an entire afternoon, enjoying a different vista from every angle and changing hues as the sun dipped. The occasional peacock strutted past me, quite at home in it's regal surroundings. Mandarin ducks as colourful as the scenery itself strayed into my viewfinder and plenty of strikingly red squirrels feasted on the nuts falling from nearby trees. I felt like I was in the heart of the countryside rather than just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

Carol, all of your images of architecture are superb; this one is, for me, the most fascinating of all, which is saying something since I love your work. What a beautiful scene, elegant structure with great reflection, a deep sense of antiquity, lovely composition and balance, etc. Love this! l/f/g+/pin
