Description
Modern Architecture in Valencia. Following a devastating flood in 1957, the city of Valencia made plans to divert the Turia River to avoid this ever happening again. By 1969 the riverbed was completely dry leaving 5 miles of land for redevelopment. The result has been a magnificent urban green space for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. The newly built City of Arts and Sciences complex is probably the most fascinating area. A wonder of modern architecture designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, this cultural complex has something for everyone. On this particular evening, nightfall brought with it a spectacular multi coloured sky, it was worth the wait!
