Description
The Polish city of Wroclaw and it's surroundings, has more than a dozen little islands all connected by around 100 bridges in a variety of architectural styles. Pictured here is the Mlynskie Bridge (or Mill Bridges), two bridges in one, crossing the North Oder River and carrying pedestrians, vehicles and trams to and from the Piaskowa and Mlynska islands. In the 12th Century, a wooden drawbridge stood in this location.
