Description
The landmark Vienna City Hall (Wiener Rathaus), situated on Rathausplatz. From late November, all throughout the festive season, this huge sqaure in the Innere Stadt area of the city is filled with bright lights and seasonal cheer as the Christmas Markets get into full swing. This impressive late 19th century town hall was built in the neo gothic architectural style and is currently home to the office of the Mayor of Vienna, Vienna Landtag diet and the city chambers and for a brief period in history, held the title of the world's tallest building. I hand blended textures with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the old world feel of this classic Viennese city scene.
