Description
Steep steps and colorful architecture of the historic Croix Rousse district of Lyon, France. High on the hill, this vibrant neighborhood with strong ties to Lyon's involvement with the silk industry, can be seen from all around the city. It is well worth the climb up the many steps to reach this treasure and seek out the hidden traboules and passageways that add even more mystery and charm to this wonderfully lively and bohemian area. Pictured here is one of the narrow lanes of Passage Thiaffait, a strikingly beautiful traboule that was once, in the early part of the 19th Century, inside the house of Francois-Felix Thiaffait. The passage has a somewhat colourful past but is now home to some exclusive boutique style stores. I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this vintage French scene.
