Description
As one of the Worlds leading destinations for Art Nouveau architecture, the Latvian capital Riga has no shortage of spectacular sights. Any stroll through the historical centre will inevitably bring you to the Old Town Square. It is here that you will find probably the most photographed building of all. A true architectural treasure, The House of The Blackheads is definitely an eye catching edifice. Originally built in 1334 as a meeting and banqueting venue, this wonderful landmark was unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. Fully restored to its former glory in 1999, it now sits majestically, waiting for visitors from all around the globe. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the historic feel of this classic Latvian scene.
