Description
The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, situated in the Belgian Capital city of Brussels is the ideal spot for a coffee or lunch after browsing the charming selection of boutique style stores. Construction started on this atmospheric shopping arcade in 1846 and was completed 18 months later. It consists of both a 'King's' and 'Queen's' gallery, which are equally delightful. The architectural style is Italianate Cinquecento beneath a glass pane roof with complete with delicate cast iron framework. As the light changes throughout the day, the area takes on a lovely vintage glow and the long shadows cast by passers by all help to make it a very picturesque location. I hand blended textures with my original photograph to achieve a more painterly style which I felt suited this old world Brussels scene.
