Description
Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, located in the Belgian Capital city of Brussels is an ideal spot for a cup of coffee after window shopping or browsing in the elegant selection of boutique style stores. Building of this atmospheric shopping arcade began in 1846 and was completed 18 months later. It consists of a 'King's' and 'Queen's' gallery, both equally delightful. The architectural style is Italianate Cinquecento beneath a glass pane roof with a delicate cast iron framework. Surrounding light changes throughout the day, and the area takes on a lovely vintage glow, the passers by casting long shadows. I hand blended painterly textures with my original photograph in black and white as I felt it suited this old world Brussels scene.
