Description
Reminiscent of the architecture of Venice, the fashionable Alster Arcades (Alsterarkaden) were built in the mid 19th century following the devastating Hamburg great fire of 1842. Overlooking a picturesque canal often filled with swans, and with a view towards Rathausmarkt square and the City Hall, these lovely arches which lead to an upscale shopping area, provide the perfect place to sit outdoors and enjoy a drink or a meal whilst taking in the lovely surroundings of this northern German city. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the vintage feel of this classic Hamburg city scene.
