Description
Spanning the Garonne River since the early 19th Century, Pont de Pierre was the first bridge to cross the River and connect the right and left banks of the city. One of the main landmarks of Bordeaux, this historic stone bridge, commissioned by Napoleon himself, has no less than 17 arches, which also happens to be the number of letters in the name Napoleon Bonaparte! Pictured here, a modern tram takes passengers across the bridge. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment this classic French bridge scene.
