Description
We have our fair share of chilly days here in Glasgow, Scotland, so it was no surprise to see this lady strolling through Kelvingrove Park in the city centre well prepared for the nip in the air in her long black wool coat and matching gloves, just as autumn was giving way to winter. The books under her arm suggested to me that she was heading in the direction of the University, perhaps to give a lecture, or attend a class at the highly regarded institution. The backdrop of this photo is the University of Glasgow, founded in 1451, it is "the 4th oldest University in the English speaking world". On the left is the tower, part of the main building, it stands at a height of 85m (278ft) and is one of Glasgow's most important and instantly recognisable landmarks, easily spotted from most parts of the city. A Bengal Tigress patiently watches the woman as she disappears along the pathway into the distance. I blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the vintage feel of this old world Scottish scene.
