Description
It's a cold December day in Vienna Old Town. Wandering around the maze of ancient cobbled streets, surrounded by the most ornate and historical architecture, the quaintest facades and pastel coloured windowframes, this doorway is so inviting. You know that beyond those green doors there will be delicious, spicy mulled wine to warm you, perhaps a glowing log fire and pleasant company. You really do have to go in and discover for yourself.... "Griechenbeisl" is one of Vienna's oldest establishments. The sign above the door declares 'since 1447' and the first historical record of the house dates back to 1350, the building itself having had many uses prior to its current one. There have been numerous renowned patrons over the years including some of the World's most well known composers such as Beethoven, Wagner, Strauss and Brahms. Even Mark Twain has entered through these doors to enjoy traditional Viennese cuisine at its best. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Vienna street scene.

Breathtaking capture, Carol! Love that amazing light, inviting open doors, gorgeous architecture and the festive decorations at the doorway! I cannot imagine walking into such an amazing historical place that has been around since 1447! Always love your descriptions! LF
