A stroll by the banks of the Salzach River in Salzburg, Austria, is a popular Sunday pastime. Families, couples and people seeking some alone time take advantage of the picturesque pathways alongside the water. Beautiful vistas surround you in every direction and there are no shortage of pretty bridges to take you from side to side or serve as an ideal spot to photograph the scenery. Leaving the old town, I headed towards the Mullner Steg bridge. On turning to look behind, I was rewarded with a beautiful view of the city. The majestic Hohensalzburg Fortress dominating the skyline, a selection of domes and spires dotting the landscape, it all made for quite a magical scene. I blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the vintage feel of this classic Austrian scene.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
