Description
A short ride Southwest of Berlin by S-Bahn will bring you to the wonderful city of Potsdam. Once a residence of the Prussian Royal Family it is home to some of Germany's most beautiful architecture. Sanssouci Park is the largest World Heritage Site in the country and within the grounds there is much to see. Pictured here is the historic Sanssouci Palace, former summer palace of Frederick The Great, King of Prussia. Built in the mid 18th Century in the Rococo style, this beautiful building in vivid yellow sits atop an elaborate and lengthy staircase and can be seen from all around the park. Although bitterly cold on this winter's day, there weren't many people around, I think in summer it would be exactly the opposite!
