Artist's Description
An antique, vintage map published in the year 1868, of an aerial view of Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa . This wonderfully nostalgic piece of history is from the Public Domain, drawn by A. Ruger and published by the Chicago Lithographing Co. Also included, below the map, are individual illustrations, including one of Iowa State University and a reference list of prominent public buildings and churches in the area at the time. This reproduction map has been restored and color corrected.

I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
