Artist's Description
On a visit to Vienna's Prater Park, most people want to see the Wiener Riesenrad, the big wheel featured in the movie 'The Third Man'. After photographing this Viennese landmark, I took a walk farther into the park, it was almost deserted in the out of season late afternoon and I was fortunate to have the place almost to myself. Rides closed for winter creaked eerily as I passed them by. Garishly painted cartoon character eyes seemed to watch me as I moved around. Carriages swaying in the breeze sat empty of people. Eventually I arrived beside this huge lesser known Ferris Wheel. It towered over me casting long shadows in the watery sunlight and I felt very small standing next to it. I was sure I could hear laughter carried in the wind as it waited patiently for summer. Ferris Wheel Prater Park Vienna has a little added texture to complete the nostalgic feel.

I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
