Artist's Description
A charming canal scene in the old historic center of Bruges, Belgium. This picturesque city is nothing short of fairy tale like, straight from the illustrated pages of a storybook, it is complete with idyllic, peaceful waterways and lakes, brick buildings and stone arch bridges. At far away side of the Wijngaard Bridge, seen here, the entrance to the Begijnhof (Beguinage) encourages visitors to step backwards in time (this extraordinary quarter was founded in the year 1245) and stroll through the captivating grounds of this beautiful convent, currently occupied by Benedictine Nuns. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the old world feel of this classic Belgian scene.

I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
