Artist's Description
In the heart of the Polish city of Wroclaw lies the old town. It's a maze of charming narrow streets, alleys and lanes filled with speciality boutiques and quaint little shops, oh what a joy it is to get lost among them and never be quite sure of what lies around the next corner but always know that it will be something delightful. The medieval market square (Rynek) which is actually rectangular in shape and one of the largest market squares in Europe, is the highlight of the old town, beautifully restored buildings surround a large pedestrian only area which hosts a traditional Christmas Market in winter and a selection of al fresco eateries in summer, a perfect place to spend time whatever the season. At one side of the pedestrian only square is Zdroj Fountain, an abstract fountain in granite and glass, it provides a stark modern contrast to the surrounding historic architecture. I blended textures with my original photograph in black and white to give a more painterly style to this...

I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
