Description
Salzburg is truly a city of hills, each one affording a different spectacular view over this enchanting Austrian destination. The steep climb up the footpath of Kapuzinerberg on the East bank of the Salzach River, is well worth the effort. On reaching the top you can see all the way across the rooftops to the white capped peaks of The Alps beyond. A light dusting of snow gives the vista an even more fairy tale appearance. On the right is Salzburg Cathedral, instantly recognizable by it's baroque green cupola, and beyond, high atop Festungsberg mountain sits Hohensalzburg Fortress, a medieval castle with a history dating all the way back to the early 11th Century. I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this wintry Salzburg scene.
