Description

The city of Basel in Northern Switzerland is charming all year round, but in summer, when window boxes are filled with vibrant colourful flowers of all types and the pretty pastel houses glow, it really does come alive. A stroll through the Altstadt (Old Town) is like taking a step back in time. Fairytale cottages surround cobbled squares, many with their own historic fountain, the pale, clear water sparkling in the sun. A warren of medieval lanes and alleys are a pleasure to get lost in and on every corner lies a picture perfect postcard scene.
