Description
Bern, capital of Switzerland, is a magical city dating back to the 12th Century. The beautifully preserved medieval Old Town (or Altstadt) is surrounded by the blue/green water of the Aare River and sits on very uneven ground which makes for a fairy tale landscape of hilly cobblestone streets and red roofs. A walk across the Nydeggbrucke at the base of the Eastern End of the Old Town will give you both magnificent views of the picturesque surroundings and a great vantage point to see the symbol of the city, the famous bears of Bern. The Bridge takes you directly to the Barengraben (a very large, natural bear enclosure) where you can watch these lovely creatures frolic and swim in their own huge pool with the ancient city as a backdrop.

Carol, what a strikingly beautifully composed photograph of majestic Bern and the bears, with fabulous colors and superb details! Love the clever title, too! F/L
