Description
Following a devastating flood in 1957, the city of Valencia made plans to divert the Turia River to prevent this from ever happening again. By 1969 the riverbed was completely dry leaving 5 miles of land for redevelopment. The result has been a magnificent urban green space for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. The recently built City of Arts and Sciences complex is probably the most fascinating area. A wonder of modern architecture designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, this cultural complex has something for everyone. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the abstract futuristic feel of the image.
