Description
Leaving the crowds of Castle Square behind you, take a wander along one of Warsaw's oldest and most famous cobblestone streets, Ulica Piwna. The name translates as 'beer street' and it is therefore no surprise to discover plenty of intimate little bars and restaurants to sit and enjoy the local Polish brew. Complete with elaborate wrought iron signs, vintage wooden doors and pastel facades, this picturesque wee road in the heart of the old town is absolutely charming, and when walking along it, on a late winter afternoon, when fairy lights twinkle and a warm glow comes from the square framed windows, you really do feel like you have taken a step back in time. I hand blended textures with my original photograph in black and white to achieve a more painterly style which I felt suited this classic Polish street scene.
