Description
The Venetian mask is an ancient tradition. Worn mainly during the annual Venice Carnival, but present throughout the year, you cannot be in Venice and not see thousands of unique examples. Highly ornate in glorious colours and designs, each one a different character from the next, it's difficult to choose just one to take home with you. Do you pick the smiling jester, grinning wickedly from ear to ear or the sad Pierrot Clown, his troubles visible on his solemn face... the bizarre plague doctor, his oversized hollow beak a reminder of terrifying times, or the dainty Colombina, just enough to cover a ladies eyes and give her a little mystery....... Two Faces of Venice has a little added texture to complete the vintage feel.

Love these masks! I have a few Mardi Gras ones that I love, and you're correct; it is so difficult to chose one! Great find and capture, Carol! LF
