Description
When I turned a corner in the old district of Alfama, Lisbon and discovered this quiet little square with nobody else around, I'm sure I gasped in delight at the scene before me. I almost felt guilty for disturbing the tranquillity as the click of my camera shutter echoed around the ancient walls, sounding much louder than it actually was. But no one appeared and said 'ssshhhhh', no dogs began to bark at me for shattering the silence and nothing stirred in the trees, the only sound was a slight rustle of the leaves from the gentle late summer breeze. I could easily have sat there all day just reading a book, enjoying the calm and taking in the atmosphere around me.

Thank you so much for that Jerry! I truly appreciate it and will always be grateful for your encouragement! I find it hard to believe myself that I only began posting work a year ago! I feel I've come such a long way in that short time. Thank you!! :)

I can understand your gasp of delight, Carol. You have a knack for finding secluded areas in otherwise busy and heavily populated areas. This is so inviting!.....FAV / LIKE PS You have had quite a year on FAA, phenomenal growth....I am sure glad you decided to "GO" for it and add more than 25 images. You have an amazing body of work.

How many people would have walked past this place without seeing it Carol? You have captured a place of serenity, peace and perhaps sadness and your lovely editing has brought out all the textures in the walls, the cobbles and the fallen leaves, Lovely. L/F
