Description
A sunset view of the Ponte Vecchio, the most well known and oldest bridge in the Italian city of Florence, capital of Tuscany. This landmark bridge has spanned the Arno River in various forms since Roman Times, with it's current version present since 1345. The lower level of the bridge is filled with quaint shops, art galleries and jewellery stores, the top level includes the 'secret' Vasari corridor, built in the 16th century to connect the Uffizi with Palazzo Pitti on the other side of the river. I blended textures with my original photograph to achieve a more painterly style which I felt suited this classic old world scene.

Beautiful image at sunset - there are so many buildings added to that bridge, one wonders just how sound it is from an engineering standpoint.
