Description
The historic old town district of inner Brussels is filled with elaborate street art. Colorful murals many stories tall decorate the corners and sides of buildings. A walk through the centre of the Belgian capital is like a visit to an open air art gallery. There is even a 'comic book route', where over 50 mural paintings celebrate the work of well known Belgian comic artists. Pictured here is one of the iconic pieces from that route, the 'Victor Sackville Wall', the scene is from the 'Opera Of Death', the first in the Code Zimmerman series of comics by Francis Carin. Here, the main character Victor Sackville – a British spy that lands in Brussels – is introduced. The street scene represents the Rue du Marché au Charbon as it looked during WWI. Street Art in Brussels Belgium has added textures to compliment the vintage feel.
