A vintage map of the State of Virginia exhibiting its internal improvements. This beautifully detailed map from the public domain was created by J.H.Young and published in 1857 by Charles DeSilver. An individual insert at the top left corner shows the District of Columbia and references such landmarks as The Capitol Building, President's House, Smithsonian Institute and Navy Yard. A legend at the top right details Principal Rail Road & Stage Routes through Virginia. This reproduction image has been restored, color corrected and has a little added texture.
