Description
The charming Spalenvorstadt as seen through Spalentor (Spalen Gate), one of three surviving ancient gates from the old walls surrounding the Northwestern Swiss city of Basel in medieval times and dating back to around 1400, also considered to be the most beautiful of its kind in Switzerland. This picturesque street is home to over 40 elegant boutiques, restaurants and speciality shops and well worth a visit if you're in town. I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this historic Swiss street scene.
