Description
The extensive network of trams in the Northern Italian city of Milan have been ferrying passengers above and below ground since 1876. Designs have changed considerably over the years, from the first horse drawn ones, to steam then electricity, such as the modern one pictured here. Varying in size and style, they have continued to be a convenient and charming way to view your surroundings. Hop aboard one of these moving parts of history and let yourself be transported back in time to an Italy of old. Do it first thing on a Sunday morning, sit back and relax as you pass by the ancient architecture and deserted streets. You will be free of the crowds that shatter the silence as the day progresses. The only sound you will hear will be the trundle and squeak of the wheels grinding along the tracks and maybe the occasional ring of a bell to add to the atmosphere.

Awesome street scene Carol! The selective colors of the tram works beautifully against the monochromatic background. F/Tw
