Description
The picturesque old town of Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, is a medieval fairytale warren of narrow, cobbled streets and alleys. Ancient lamps hover over old wooden panelled doors, each individual design painted a different colour depending on the owners taste. This sparkling little gem lies along the Danube River, nestling between Austria and Hungary, it shouldn't be missed out on any trip to Central Europe. Pictured here is the historic Kapitulska street, situated just behind St.Martin's Cathedral, it is the oldest street in Bratislava, with records dating back to the early 13th century, the ornate gothic spire of The Clarissine Church is visible on the right. I hand blended a little texture to compliment the old world feel of this classic Bratislavan street scene.

David, thank you so much for your lovely comment! I do try my best to get there before the crowds, but unfortunately it's not always possible. Thank you for noticing! :)

Love the colours and the ancient cobble stone effect, terrific photography as always Carol ! In your wonderful gallery I note that you take so much trouble over each image to get the best time of day, usually early morning before most people are up and when everything looks so peaceful. Always a delight to view!......l/f
