The historic Ribeira district of the Northern Portuguese city of Porto is a festival of colour. Splashes of sienna ,azure, terracotta, champagne pink and vivid yellow overlap each other haphazardly and fill the landscape like an artists unwashed palette. The aging architecture reflects the tones of its surroundings, the Douro river and electric blue sky. The buildings appear to jostle for space but fit together jigsaw like, each piece complimenting the next perfectly and creating this beautiful vista on the hill. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white, to compliment the old world feel of this classic Porto city scene.
