Description
A beautifully detailed antique, vintage map of an aerial view over the village of New Salem, Menard County, Illinois. New Salem is known for being the home of Abraham Lincoln from 1831 to 1837. This wonderfully nostalgic piece of history from the Public Domain was drawn by Arthur L.Brown, lithography by J.W.Franks & Sons and published in 1837 by R.J.Onstott. Also included, below the map, is a reference list of points of interest, business premises and public buildings in the area at the time. This reproduction map has been restored, converted to sepia tone and has hand blended textures.
