Description
Following a devastating flood in 1957, the city of Valencia made plans to divert the Turia River to avoid this ever happening again. By 1969 the riverbed was completely dry leaving 5 miles of land for redevelopment. The result has been a magnificent urban green space for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. The newly built City of Arts and Sciences complex is probably the most fascinating area. A wonder of modern architecture designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, this cultural complex has something for everyone. I added a little texture to Modern Valencia in Black and White.

Beautiful work Carol! You should do more black and whites. :)

Thanks very much Ian, I appreciate that. I have actually been doing more black and white work of late, I'm getting quite into it now! :)

Carol, what a magnificent structure; your portrait of it, so impressive. I like both the color version as well as this one, with the beautiful reflection and striking architectural style! l/f
