Description
It took centuries and many, many different architects and engineers to build the majestic Duomo Di Milano. Construction began in 1836 and yet it was not officially completed until 1965. You can tell immediately as you stand in front of this huge gothic structure that it did not appear overnight, nor even in a matter of years. The incredibly high standard of workmanship is apparent, the vast amount of intricate detail overwhelming, you could look at it a thousand times and still find something new to catch your attention. The Cathedral takes pride of place in the very heart of Milan, with main arteries of the city either radiating outwards in every direction or circling this central point. It is most definitely a remarkable landmark.
