It took centuries and many, many different architects and engineers to build the majestic Duomo Di Milano. Construction began in 1836 and yet it was not officially completed until 1965. You can tell immediately as you stand in front of this huge gothic structure that it did not appear overnight, nor even in a matter of years. The incredibly high standard of workmanship is apparent, the vast amount of intricate detail overwhelming, you could look at it a thousand times and still find something new to catch your attention. The Cathedral takes pride of place in the very heart of Milan, with main arteries of the city either radiating outwards in every direction or circling this central point. It is most definitely a remarkable landmark. I blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the vintage feel of this historic architectural image.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of this amazing work!
