Artist's Description
A rear street view of one of the most charming traboules of the historic French city of Lyon. These fascinating stairwells, tunnels and corridors are built into the very fabric of Vieux Lyon and have been there since the 4th Century. Used by the silk merchants of the time to move between buildings and streets without ever venturing outside, the cover of the traboules protected their precious materials from the harsh elements. Now, one of the most intriguing aspects of the city, you cannot visit without taking a step back in time and getting lost in the ancient warren of secret passageways. I hand blended textures with my original vintage style photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Lyonnais street scene.

I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
