Description
A vintage map of the city of Los Angeles, California as it appeared in 1871. The beautifully detailed pictorial map shows the City of Angels as it was in the late 19th century. An index list references public buildings, schools, churches and oints of interest. Surrounding the map, a series of vignettes depict a variety of historical scenes relating to the area, including San Gabriel Mission and giant prehistoric animals of La Brea Pits. Also shown are the original Spanish Ranchos abutting on the sea. The map was published by The Women's University Club of Los Angeles in 1929. This reproduction map has been restored and converted to nostalgic sepia tone.
