Description
One of the best things about Lisbon's Old Town is the ancient trams trundling up and down the many hills and narrow winding streets, often packed to capacity and sounding their little bells to warn pedestrians of their approach. No trip to the Portuguese capital is complete without a trip on a Lisbon tram. Typically covered in colourful graffiti, (no amount of repainting in the traditional yellow and white deters the local street artists), the 3 ascensors of the city blend chameleon like into the background of equally vibrantly decorated walls. Pictured here is the Ascensor do Lavra which has been operational since 1884 and is still climbing that steep hill regularly! I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the historic feel of this old world Lisbon city scene.
