Description
Probably one of the most iconic landmarks in Washington DC, the Lincoln Memorial sits at the Western end of the National Mall and looks out over the Reflecting Pool towards the Washington Monument and Capitol Building beyond. Opened in 1922 in honor of the 16th President of the United States, this captivating statue is visited by over 6 million people from all corners of the globe every year. Equally mesmerizing by day and night, this is a must see on any visit to the US capital city. I hand blended a vintage map of Washington DC from the year 1862 and a selection of textures with my original photograph of this classic Washington scene in nostalgic sepia.
