Carol, I am amazed at the clarity on these old maps and the age of them. I am so happy someone with your expertise in photography, has rescued some of these so all can enjoy what it used to be a long time ago, wonderful!!! :D l/f

Artist's Description

An antique map from the year 1876 of The City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This beautifully detailed plan includes illustrations celebrating views from the 1776-1876 Centennial exhibition, including Agricultural Hall, Women's Pavilion and Memorial Hall. This was the very first World's Fair to be held in the United States and marked the 100th anniversary of the historic event of the signing of The Declaration of Independence, which also took place in Philadelphia. This restored vintage map has a little hand blended texture.

About Carol Japp

Carol Japp

I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
