Description
Something I had dreamed of doing since I was a wee kid growing up in Glasgow was to walk across The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. At the time it seemed impossible as it was so far away, something you only saw on TV. Years later, whilst standing looking up at one of its massive towers I had to pinch myself, I couldn't believe I had finally gotten there. I was overwhelmed by the magnificence of this iconic structure which has been taking passengers across the bay since 1937. I could go on and on with technical specifications and statistics but I prefer to just say it has to be one of the most spectacular sights in the world and no matter how many times you see it in the movies, nothing quite prepares you for the impact it has on you in real life. A modern day wonder of the world indeed. I hand blended a selection of textures and a vintage map from 1896 with my original photograph to compliment the historic feel of this classic San Francisco bridge scene.
