Historic Dluga Street (or Long Market) is one of the main attractions of Gdansk Old Town and part of the Royal Route. Beautifully ornate pastel coloured buildings and antique style street lamps line each side of this inviting, pedestrian only street that stretches from the Golden Gate to the Town Hall from where it then becomes Dlugi Targ. Seen here by night, is one of the most loved attractions of the area,the early 17th Century rococo style Neptune's Fountain, situated at the front of Artus Court. The historic gothic-renaissance style Main Town Hall is a perfect backdrop for this enchanting fountain. I blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white to compliment this old world Polish street scene.

For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
