Description
Mariacka, in the Polish city of Gdansk on the Baltic Coast, is said to be one of the most beautiful streets in the world. This tiny, narrow cobblestone lane is romantic at any time of the day, but by early morning light, when the quaint little shops are still closed and the visitors have yet to arrive, it appears quite magical. At the end of the street sits the tall and imposing St. Mary's Church, the spires stretching skyward. Slim buildings on either side seem to lean in and envelope you, such is their close proximity. The classic street lanterns subtly add to the ever present atmosphere of old world gothic mystery. Mariacka is a street that, particularly when you have it all to yourself, etches a little spot in your heart that will stay with you forever. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in vintage sepia tone, to compliment the historic feel of this old world Polish street scene.
