Description
The Roman Catholic Freiburg Cathedral (or the various other names it is known as: Freiburg Minster,Freiburger Munster,Cathedral of Our Lady) has a history going all the way back to the turn of the 13th Century and beyond. Construction on the current church began originally in the Romanesque style in 1300, but changed to gothic style some 30 years later. The 116 metres high Church Tower seen on the left is the only gothic church tower in Germany that dates back to the middle ages and still stands today. Features of the architecture of the building include filigree stonework, flying buttresses, an octagonal belfry, 13th century stained glass windows and various statues and ornate waterspouts. I added a little texture and grain to the image to complete the vintage feel.
