Description
Since its opening in 1870, Castle Hill Funicular has been ferrying passengers up and down the steep incline that links Szechenyi Chain Bridge and Adam Clark Square by the riverside, with Buda Castle high above. Unfortunately, this charming, landmark mode of transport was destroyed by bombing during the Second World War, but after rebuilding, was able to open to the public once again in 1986. The old funicular is a must see on any visit to the Hungarian capital city. I hand blended a selection of textures with my original photograph to achieve a more painterly style which I felt suited this old world European scene.
