Capital of the West Flanders region and located in North West Belgium, Bruges (or Brugge) is a magical city of canals. Straight from the pages of a storybook and Bruges comes complete with cobblestone lanes, horse drawn carriages, historic buildings and quaint waterways which have contributed to it's nickname of 'Little Venice of The North'. Idyllic scenes are everywhere and there are no shortage of places to admire the view and feel like you have gone back in time to a real life fairytale. On the right of the image, soaring high above the historic centre, you can see the Belfry of Bruges, one of the city's most prominent landmarks, with a history dating all the way back to the early 13th Century. I hand blended textures with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this picturesque Belgian canal scene.
